After 15 years we return to Wismar. Our last appearance was at the “Hafentage” 2011 and on the NDR Summer Tour 2011, where we played two fine open-air concerts.
Today we are playing in the Stadttheater, which – after a long absence – is a venue with some empty seats in the auditorium. We have become spoiled by playing to sold-out houses. Still, it was a lovely concert evening.
During the soundcheck we had time to test a few changes to the set. We are reducing the tempo of “Private Investigations”, for example. We place great emphasis on constantly working on the songs and sometimes developing them in our own way – while always keeping in mind that the development stays true to the spirit of the original. To do that, you need to have understood and internalised the substance of the song. Sometimes, however, songs develop unconsciously through constant live performance and drift in a direction that needs to be corrected. That has happened with “Private Investigations”, which had been moving at quite a brisk tempo recently.
