10.05.26 – Lennestadt – Festhalle

We rarely make our way into the Siegerland region. The motorway connection to Lennestadt doesn’t seem to be the best. For 45 minutes we travel through the idyllic countryside. We lowlanders from the North Sea coast certainly do appreciate mountains and valleys.

Thanks to a short drive, coming from Bochum, we can rest at the hotel for a few hours before heading to the soundcheck. Today we have a support act – “Rustics” – nice guys who play a somewhat heavier style. Sounds good, though.

Since this time we have an unusually large amount of time between dinner and the show – a full 3 hours – Jens, roadie Steven and I set off to explore some castles in the area. About 5 km away there is said to be a ruin that not even all the locals know about. So off we go. We spend a lovely while on a short hike through the forest to a scenically situated ruin, of which only the foundation walls remain. No matter. It is wonderfully unhurried.

At 9 p.m. we take the stage and play our set. Our thanks go to the organising team – in the best sense, you can always tell when a local club puts on an event. Everyone makes a real effort, is friendly, and everything is taken care of. Thank you.
